Our bullpen would look MUCH better if you dropped about 20% of the innings that've been dropped on it by the starters. Rupe and Wright have been outstanding as has Nippert at times. Madrigal looks like the real deal with only a couple of outing really hurting his ERA. Benoit is finally getting healthy and FrankFrank can be a stud. Get CJ back on the hump and who else do you need?

All THEY need is a break. Offload a bunch'a their inning onto the starters and we're solid back there. Mendoza should also be considered for the bullpen as starting doesn't appear to be in his makeup.

If we could get Kazmir... I'd just about unload the farm for him. Sheets is another Eaton/Millwood/Gabbard/Otsuka waiting to happen and Sabathia, with his weight and his history of lack of focus in our heat would be Chan Ho Park all over again.

Be careful where you tread with the retread.

Forget about Kazmir. Why would Tampa Bay trade an all star left-handed arm, when they will be competing for a playoff spot for at least the next several years? Jackson and Sonnanstine are just placeholders for Price, McGee, or Davis.

Now Greinke, Marc**, and/or Cain, I think could be done. But it would no doubt cost a lot. Personally, I would pick a direction and go with it. This team is not a pitcher or two away, not even any of the afore mentioned pitchers. THey still need about three more reliable starters and maybe that many guys in the pen.

With all apologies to M. Young, I say, keep developing. Let 'em work things out in the bigs for a couple of years, and then go make a big trade.

Once again, that is too much. The Rays would have to take Millwood and his contract in return for this toi even begin to get intresting

The Rays would definitely not do that deal. They are competing in the AL East this year, and expect to do the same next year. It makes no sense to trade their #1 starting pitcher when they are competing. If they were to do that, they would have to keep one of Edwin Jackson, Andrew Sonnanstine, or Jeff Niemann in the rotation next year. There is a significant downgrade from Kaz to those guys and this deal does not provide a significant upgrade anywhere else on the major league team. It just makes no sense from their perspective.

In order for the Rangers to acquire Kazmir, major league, or major league ready, hitting must be the centerpiece, and it would have to be young, high-caliber hitters, such as Saltalamacchia or Davis.

PS-Even though I'm a Rays fan, I really enjoy reading the in-depth and well thought out articles regarding trades and free agency that have become frequent here.

I think that Holland and Feliz have to be untouchables, no matter who else we expose. They are definitely part of the rather immediate future of pitching and must not be dealt...period.

As much as I would like to have a true ace fronting our staff I don't know if I would do anything. I can't believe that I just said that but, with Padilla and millwood under contract for next year, both make big money, and only padilla with minor trade value...2 of your 5 spots are filled. I think that feldman has earned a guanteed spot. And if Mccarthey is healthy he has an inside trac. That's 4 of five. We have at least 7 youngsters with some ML experience that should get the chance to compete for the 5th spot. Who is the odd man out if you sign a front line started?

One more pitcher I would like to see be considered in the free agent market, that's on the right side of 30, is CC Sabathia. I haven't heard weather or not he signed an extention with Mil. If not and he hits the market, I would love to have him.

Jamey...I would do that deal but I'm not sure that they woud do it with out including Holland or Feliz and they would be harder for me to part with. also, you did not try to put a catcher in the mix, have they met their quota on catchers?

Jamie... Pass me some of what you are smoking. And give me Matt Cain over all of them.
