Not long ago.

In this week’s episode of “This Is Us,” an oddly cameoing Sylvester Stallone says, at one point in the story:

“In my experience, there’s no such thing as ‘a long time ago.’ There’s only memories that mean something, and memories that don’t.”

Seven years ago today, this happened.

It’s one of my three or four favorite Texas Rangers memories.

Still.

Probably forever.

I’ve written about it many times, the first of which was this time.

According to Sly, that wasn’t a long time ago, because there’s no such thing.

It was just seven October 12’s ago, a memory that means something, a lot, and always will, no matter what’s ahead for this franchise, especially on those future October 12’s when this club is still playing baseball, not to mention the two or three October weeks each year that follow.
