To have and to hold, from this day forward.
And in health.
To the 11 of you who have unsubscribed the last three days, it’s cool. Thanks for your time and support all these years.
To the other 40-something thousand of you: I know. I know this thing that doesn’t really matter still matters a lot. And sometimes it’s extra-challenging.
Hang in there. Gut it out.
Relationships take work. Strength. Faith.
The Rangers don’t have a winning record, a distinction they share at the moment with the two teams that played in the World Series in 2016 and the two teams that played in the World Series in 2015 and the two teams that played in the World Series in 2014 and one of the teams that played in the World Series in 2013 and one of the teams that played in the World Series in 2012.
And both teams that played in the World Series in 2011 and both teams that played in the World Series in 2010, the memory of which prompted at least two of those 11 unsubscriptions, I’m told.
There was sports adversity around here in 2010 and 2011, too.
Really. There was.
Last night’s game was weird. There was better and there was worse — and there was Elvis reminding us all of 2010 — and there were some interesting postgame comments that are going to fire up talk show segments today and add to the 2017 story, a story that has had its ups and downs, like every sports season, and 8.6 percent of the way into the schedule we’ve got some talking points.
Anyway, hang in there.
And let’s Win The Damn (early-season three-game) Series.
