Fan Fest & Rangers trivia: Bring it.

The Awards Dinner is tonight, and Fan Fest is tomorrow and Sunday at the Arlington Convention Center. There's a very good preview on the Rangers' site of what's in store at Fan Fest - give it a read if you're thinking about heading out for it. Bigtime amp-up this year.

We'll have a Newberg Report booth in Exhibit Hall both Saturday and Sunday, near the speed pitch and batting cage setups, and I'll have the 2011 Bound Edition (commemorating the World Series season) for sale (cash or check only, please). It might be cool to bring your book or come pick one up at the booth to get autographed throughout the weekend by what's expected to be about 30 current and former Rangers on hand for the event.

(The book special is still available - buy two copies of the 2011 Bound Edition and you'll get a free copy of any previous year's edition, your choice. If I run out of the previous year you're interested in while at the event, I've got more at home and will mail yours to you on Monday. But I'll have plenty of 2011's on hand.)

We'll also have a walk-up trivia contest at the Newberg Report booth all day on Saturday (doors open at 9 a.m.). I've come up with 10 Rangers-related questions, and I think they're pretty challenging. I'd be surprised if anyone gets everything right.

(I just finished my first week of P90X, and my body is hissed off. Had to take it out on somebody. Might as well be everyone.)

Stop by anytime on Saturday and take the quiz. The two people with the most correct answers will each win a 2011 Bound Edition autographed by Rangers players. (If more than two people tie for the most, we'll draw the two winners from a hat and give the others some sort of consolation prize.)

We'll announce the winners at 4:00 on Saturday. You can submit your entry at any time during the day leading up to that time, and you don't need to be around at 4:00 in order to win. (But you do need to be at Fan Fest - I'm not sending the trivia questions out in advance.)

We're also toying with the idea of having a scheduled Q&A at some point but might save that for Sunday (once we scope out the landscape on Saturday and determine whether it would work in terms of space).

And speaking of Q&A, mark your calendars for Thursday, February 10, when we'll have a second book release party (the second printing hit the ground today, which is sufficient to throw a party, I think). Like last year, when our second party was at Sherlock's in Dallas (Park Lane and 75) and staged Chuck Greenberg's first public appearance as prospective Rangers owner, we'll be back at the Dallas Sherlock's again, and Chuck will be back with us, too. New television play-by-play announcer John Rhadigan will be there, too, and I'm also working to get a high-profile player and someone from baseball operations to join us as well.

As we did last year, we'll have a moderated Q&A and auction off some cool Rangers memorabilia for charity. It was a blast last year, and I expect it will be again this time around.

Hope to see a bunch of you this weekend, and to humiliate humble you on Saturday with a grueling batch of Rangers trivia questions.
